Andy Stanley Personal Ministry

Ronnie Cordrey took the pulpit this weekend in our fourth teaching aspect of growing in our faith with PERSONAL MINISTRY.

Of the five aspects,
  • Practical Teaching
  • Providential Relationships
  • Private Disciplines
  • Personal Ministry and next week,
  • Pivotal Circumstances...
I would say PERSONAL MINISTRY resonates the most in my life. I have grown leaps and bounds in the personal ministry I believe God has laid upon my heart: leading women in Bible study.Ronnie defined personal ministry as responding to an eternal nudge from God to serve others. His text was taken from Matthew 14:13-18 as he defined his 'personal ministry' as serving others.

In the Matthew 14 verses, he highlighted several excuses the disciples used that stood in their way of serving. Jesus quickly shows them 'personal ministry' by serving the people. The disciples didn't know 'how' to feed the people which stopped them cold in their tracks. Instead, Jesus encouraged them with His words "They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat."

Jesus' words encouraged me to become his 'hands and feet'...jump in and get dirty, but serve others. Might my prayer sound something like..."I'll do what I can, but you'll need to take over Lord and move mountains, because I'm clueless on what I need to do here."

Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms.
---1 Peter 4:10
