"It is always the simple things that change our lives. And these things never happen when you are looking for them to happen. Life will reveal answers at the pace life wishes to do so.
You feel like running, but life is on a stroll."
Donald Miller, Blue Like Jazz
Donald Miller's words are very convicting to this -list driven, multi-tasking, super-mom. Busyness invades every nook and cranny of my life. I'm not "running" as Miller suggests, I'm SPRINTING through my weeks with reckless abandon.
My pace? FULL STEAM STRAIGHT AHEAD! I doubt anyone on the Titanic knew they were destined for a watery grave. Oh no, it was "full steam straight ahead!" and the orchestra was playing as they sank beneath the waves.
What is your pace? Are you driven beyond what your body and soul can withstand? Do you occasionally stop or pause to decipher when was the last time you connected with God?
Take a deep breathe...
"For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him; for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.
As for man, his days are like grass, and its place remembers it no more."
Psalm 145:11-14
Loved this book - time to reread! Yes - I too am sprinting but daily work to purposefully slow down and enjoy each moment. Miss you guys.
