9:30am -The curtains are drawn and darkness fills the Belding abode. Murphy has left his four sleeping women hours earlier. He needs coffee and a newspaper in the early morning hours.
10:30am-We submit our name and browse the gift shop at the Newport Cracker Barrel. We immerse ourselves in country cooking. Sausage patties, blueberry pancakes, scrambled eggs, grits, biscuits & gravy, and sourdough French toast.
11:30pm- At The Creation Museum the parking lots are full and lines are forming outside the doors. This is a “walk through history” museum designed by a former Universal Studios exhibit director. This state-of-the-art 65,000 square foot museum brings the pages of the Bible to life. We decide to try again soon... maybe during the weekday hours.
12:00pm- We arrive at the GAP Clearance Store. This is not your average 'outlet store,' but a HUGE warehouse of GAP, OLD NAVY, and Banana Republic merchandise. It is a cement-floor treasure chest for moms, moms-to-be, teens, kids, babies and men, stocked with massive racks of first quality clearance merchandise, irregulars, damaged items and returns from regular stores. Anyone with a sharp eye and a heavy dose of patience can fill a shopping cart or mesh bag with bargains and stay in double digits. We have recommended this bargain-hunters-paradise to many people! How fortunate for us to be outside this store with a free morning. We leave Murphy in the car...to nap.
2:00pm- We emerge from the GAP building with our bags of shopping booty in under two hours! We're happy to be under budget.
2:45pm- Murphy suggests we drop him off at the hotel to nap and watch TV. We are headed to the Florence Mall.
5:00pm- We make several quick stops for carry-out food and hibernate all evening to watch Final Four basketball games.
