A challenge about...sensing God's presense

What does 'seeing God' or 'hearing God's voice' actually mean?

I think we can hear God's voice through a feeling, a thought, a picture, an action, a person, or even in total silence. I have heard Him through a friends encouraging words, or the momentary flicker in my consciousness of His presence and after many hours, days or weeks I begin to know with certainty it was His voice speaking to me.

"...get to know well your father's God; serve him with a whole heart and eager mind, for God examines every heart and sees through every motive. If you seek him, he'll make sure you find him, but if you abandon him, he'll leave you for good. Look sharp now! God has chosen you to build his holy house. Be brave, determined!
