Sanctuary

I meet with a friend regularly. Well, it used to be regularly but situations have gotten crazy busy lately. It has been several months since we have been able to get together in our shared journey. Like the stereotypical women, we meet for tea and compliment each other's outfit, share anecdotes about our children, etc, but then. . . . . when those fifteen or twenty minutes are over we arrive at our destination. This is the most beautiful place in the middle of a green valley of God's love. It is filled with all the vibrant blooms of grace. There is a powerful waterfall of God's Holy word which flows into a cool pool of understanding and wisdom. It can get hot out in the sun of accountability so we also enjoy the shade of Christ's love we have for each other.

What is the name of this place? I call it sanctuary.

Webster's defines Sanctuary this way:

A sacred, holy place, as the part of the church, where services are held; a safe place; a refuge.

We meet to read, discuss, contemplate, and enjoy God's Word and instruction. We meet to examine, challenge, and encourage each other. She and I journey together to this wonderful land often but never long enough. Each time we come to an end in our time, we are left with even more questions, joy, laughter, and work than when we had arrived. IT IS AWESOME!
