Spiritual transformation, 'recovering my life' comes from partnering with the Trinity for change. It has nothing to do with giving the Holy Spirit an agenda of how I want things to work out.

I must simply desire.
I must simply bring my ache...the deep place within that desires change to Him.
I must bring my longing and desperation for a change within...to Him.

And in this place of desperation, I realize I am finite. Physically and mentally, I see my weaknesses and limits for all they are.

I don't have unlimited energy, time, and personal resources.
I can't burn my candle at both ends calling it ministry and not suffer huge consequences of my body but mostly my soul.

As Adele Calhoun writes, "...we must give our bodies to unhurried rhythms of grace. They {spiritual disciplines} are ways we unhurry our souls before God."

Listen to your desires and desperations:
your needs,
an area of struggle,
desperations,
barrenness in routines or relationships,
or concern with lack of motivation, and
what is not working in your life

...then, ask yourself, How do I want to or need to be with God?

Worship Him
Open myself to Him
Relinquish the false self and idols of my heart
Share my life with others
Hear the Word of God
Incarnate Christ's love for the world
Pray to God
