Anxiety is not only a pain which we must ask God to assuage but also a weakness we must ask him to pardon—for he’s told us to take no care for the morrow.
—C.S. Lewis
The focus of our life should be to worship and to serve and to proclaim Christ and to live obediently to the Word of God, to pursue truth and holiness and love. When we allow anxiety and worry to invade our thoughts and decisions, we really don't understand the priority God should have in our lives.
Colossians chapter 3 says it in straightforward language,
“If then you have been raised up with Christ and you have,”
it could be read,
“Since you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above. Stop seeking the things here, seek the things above, live your life for the Kingdom and all the others will be added.”
One of my favorite verses,
"But seek first His kingship over you,
His way of holiness,
and all these things will be given to you besides."
-Matthew 6:33 (NAB)
