One of the constant invitations of Scripture is to return. "Return to the LORD,
your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in
steadfast love" (Joel 2:13). Returning is not always easy, as the prophet himself
admits, but those who return will always find a welcome with God. If we had
not begun at all, then it would not be possbile to return again and again. We
cannot continue in a practice never truly begun.
