the art of napping

Do you like to nap?
Are you a cat napper?
Power napper?
Do you enjoy a Sunday afternoon siesta?

Napping in the sense of: to sleep for a short time, to doze, or a brief period of sleep especially taken during the daytime.

I think nappers have gotten a bad rap. It appears to be a sign of weakness or laziness. No one wants to be 'caught' napping. I'm just not a napper. Are you? Do you think napping in the middle of the day is indulgent? Slothful?

New studies show that napping boosts creativity, alertness, productivity. It may even reduce stress, lower the risk of heart attack and stroke. Studies show naps make you smarter, healthier, and safer.

My husband is a master napper. He can fall asleep faster than anyone else I know. He can put himself to sleep and wake himself up after a 'power nap' of only a few minutes. If he wants to sleep for only fifteen minutes, he'll wake himself. He's rested, refreshed, and ready for his evening.
